Let Us Train Your Dog for You
Olivet’s most comprehensive obedience dog training service is our Board and Train Program offered for dogs approximately 6 months and older. The first step is to meet for a training consultation and evaluation in which we assess your dog’s temperament and personality and gain a clear understanding of your goals. Our training director, Sapir Weiss will then design a dog training plan tailored to your dog’s temperament and your individual needs. From there, your dog stays at our training facility for 2-3 weeks and through clear, kind, consistent and proven methods the professionals at Olivet train your dog.
Olivet’s training facility offers optimal conditions to engage your dog in an interesting and motivating environment. Our Board and Train Program includes simulating the many realistic scenarios you and your dog typically encounter throughout your dog’s life, whether at home, in town or walking in the park. Olivet’s spacious country setting provides a controlled environment to safely and comprehensively address your dog’s obedience or behavior modification needs.
Board and Train Includes 4 Individual Training Sessions
When your dog completes the residential training, you then begin "cross-training", consisting of 4 individual training sessions. The first session is scheduled for the day your dog graduates from Olivet. In this comprehensive lesson you will be taught how to enforce all of the training that your dog learned while at Olivet.
During the cross-training you will learn how to effectively and caringly reintegrate your dog into your household, and then some. It’s best to allow approximately three hours for this appointment to gain the most from this session.
A Training Program for the Long Haul
Once your dog has completed the Board and Train portion and you have had your cross-training lesson, you still have 3 additional one-on-one lessons included in the training program fee so that you and your dog get the continued support you need.
Training for the Life of your Dog
With over 35 years of professional experience successfully working with dogs and their owners, Sapir understands that as your dog matures, your training needs may vary. This is why when you opt for Olivet’s Board and Train Program your 4 individual training sessions are for the life of your dog and do not have an expiration date.
At Olivet, we know that no two owners share exactly the same needs or learn at the same pace. So we designed our Board and Train Program to offer maximum flexibility, allowing you to schedule these sessions as you and your dog progress. Some owners like to schedule the follow-up training sessions fairly close together. However most prefer to schedule these sessions over time, allowing the owner to implement the training learned and as progress continues, reserve some lessons for any future needs. In this way, Olivet offers owners the training guidance they need for the many years of enjoyment to come with their dog.

"Continuing Education" is an additional benefit. Anytime you board your dog after completing the Board and Train Program, you pay the standard boarding rate and Olivet will refresh your dog’s training at no additional charge.
Obedience Board and Train Rates
Rates for the Board and Train Program including 4 follow-up individual sessions, start at $3000 but may vary depending on the age of your dog, behavioral issues being addressed and the length of stay. An exact rate for this program will be determined during a thorough training consultation which includes a comprehensive evaluation of your dog’s personality in conjunction with the needs of your household.
